The Chilli King is a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk and affiliated sites. We may also participate in other affiliate programmes from time to time, including those run through networks such as Awin.
This means that some of the links on this site (including links within our growing guides, recipes and recommended equipment pages) are affiliate links. If you click on one of these links and go on to make a purchase, we may earn a small commission on each sale. This comes at no extra cost to you — the price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or go directly to the retailer.
Why We Use Affiliate Links
The Chilli King website has been running since 2006, sharing free growing guides, recipes and advice with chilli enthusiasts across the world. Running and maintaining the site comes at a cost: website domain and hosting costs, time spent writing, testing and updating content. It all takes time and money.
We of course keep the site going for the love of chillies and the great community of growers that follow us. Affiliate commissions and advertising help us keep the site running and continue producing free content for everyone, without needing to charge for access or paywall our guides.
Our Editorial Promise
We promise to only recommend products that we have genuinely used ourselves or would happily use. Where possible we base these reviews/recommendations on our own experience growing chillies for nearly two decades. Whether or not a product has an affiliate link attached has no bearing on whether we recommend it. We never accept payment in exchange for positive reviews, and we don’t recommend products we don’t believe in simply because they offer a commission.
If we haven’t personally used a product, we’ll say so clearly.
Advertising
In addition to affiliate links, The Chilli King displays advertising (primarily through Google AdSense) and/or other similar advertising networks. These adverts are served by third parties and may use cookies to display adverts based on your visits to this and other websites. You can find more information about this, including how to opt out of personalised advertising, in our Privacy Policy.
