Turkey Chilli Recipe

Turkey chilli is a great alternative to beef chilli. Not only is turkey a lot cheaper than both chicken and beef if cooked correctly it contains just as much flavour. This chilli recipe uses both diced and minced turkey to make the textures more interesting.

Turkey Chilli Ingredients

1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

2 cloves of garlic

3 teaspoons of cumin powder

3 chopped jalapeno chillies

250 grams of minced turkey

4 diced turkey breasts

1 large handful of fresh thyme

1 tin of canallini beans

1 tin of chick peas

750 ml of vegetable stock

Method

In a large pan heat some vegetable oil then add the garlic and onions and fry slowly until the onions have softened and are starting to brown then add the cumin.

After stirring add the turkey and cook, continuously stirring until the turkey is no longer pink. Next add the rest of the ingredients and simmer until the stock has reduced down to a thick consistency. Add salt and pepper to taste.

This turkey chilli is best served with a pile of white rice, a dollop of sour cream and some tortillas.
