A Simple Habanero Hot Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 10 Fresh Habanero Chillies finely chopped
  • 1 Carrot finely chopped
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cip Water
  • tsp Corn Flour
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 cup Cider Vinegar

Method
 

  1. Add the carrot, onion and habaneros to a saucepan with the water and vinegar. Bring to the boil then simmer on a low heat for 20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile add the garlic cloves (unpeeled) to a dry frying pan on a high heat. Once the skin is charred remove from the heat, chop finely and set aside.
  3. Add the cooked garlic to the habanero pan and continue to simmer until a thick sauce like consistency is reached.
  4. Pour the sauce into steralised bottles and allow to cool

Notes

Once bottled, store the sauce in a cool dark place. Once you have opened a bottle/jar keep it in the fridge and consume it withing 8 weeks.
